ESB-01 , ESB-02 Multi-Point Etherseries Bridges V 4.2

This release is for the RoHS Multi-point EtherBridge 1-Port and 2-Port.

This release adds the following options:

The release adds baud rates 460800 and 921600 to the Multipoint-Bridge firmware.

ESB-02-I Etherseries Bridge with optical isolation. V3.1

July 16, 2007

This release is for the point-to-point bridge only.

This firmware has the same basic feature set as the one-port EtherBridge v4.0 except the optically isolated unit only supports RS422 4-wire mode and thus has no options to select the interface, set flow control, set pin-6 control, or enable modem operation.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This is the initial release of the EtherBridge, Multipoint-Bridge, and SCADA Multipoint-Bridge firmware for the new RoHS hardware platform.

The Multipoint-Bridge now supports 2-wire 485 operation.

EtherBridge ESB-02 Version 2.8

July 5, 2005

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The following changes and corrections were made to the firmware:

1) Better use of the hardware watchdog timer. No longer using a strobe from interrupt.

2) Set the fatal error interrupt vectors, such as illegal instruction, divide by zero, step trap, software trap, etc, to cause a watchdog timer reset instead of causing a "6" fatal flash code. The unit will still display fatal flash codes if a POST failure occurs.

3) Fixed a time calculation error when performing MAC address aging. The error would occur when the system timer rolled over.

4) Fixed a bug in handling a simultaneous TCP close. The bug would cause a flood of FIN packets from the Etherbridge under certain conditions.

5) Fixed a bug in handling a TCP close when the close was initiated by the Etherbridge. The Etherbridge would fail to ACK the remote's FIN packet under certain conditions. v 6) Implemented a work-around for the bug in the TI16550 UART where it fails to generate a Tx interrupt in the case of simultaneous Tx and Rx interrupt events.

7) Added the ability to select Ethernet duplex and speed. Similar to the other Etherpath products.

----------

Note: V2.6 and V2.7 were test versions and never released.

----------

ESB-02 VERSION 2.5 9/16/2004

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This release adds the following features:

This release corrects the following bugs:

- This release corrects a bug that would cause the EtherBridge to completely lock up.

The EtherBridge uses memory packets to queue data for the Ethernet and serial ports. To prevent from running out of memory, a limit is placed on how many packets can be queued to an interface. That limit was not being checked when queuing a packet from the internal TCP/IP stack to a serial port. This rarely occurred, but completely locks up the Etherbridge. This bug only occurs in the standard two port version.

ESB-02 Multipoint VERSION 2.3 7/12/2004

ESB-02 SCADA Multipoint VERSION 2.3 7/12/2004

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This release adds the following features:

- This release adds user authentication to the Telnet Interface and the ability to individually disable Web, Telnet, and SNMP access. Implementation matches what was done for the EtherSeries product family.

This release corrects the following bugs:

----------

ESB-02 VERSION 2.3 5/5/2004

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This release adds the following features:

- This release adds support for bridging through dial-up modems.

- It also adds dynamic RTT support to the TCP/IP stack.

This release corrects the following bugs:

----------

ESB-02 SCADA Multi-drop VERSION 2.2 2/3/2003

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Initial release of SCADA multi-drop version of the bridge. This product is tuned for multi-drop radios/DSUs/FRADs in the SCADA environment.

Initial release at version 2.2 to maintain compatibility with other bridge products.

ESB-02 VERSION 2.2 2/3/2003

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This release adds the following features:

This release corrects the following bugs:

- The SNMP trap configuration was not being saved when modified from the SNMP web page.

----------

ESB-02 VERSION 2.1 12/13/2002

ESB-02 Multipoint VERSION 2.1 12/17/2002

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This release adds the following features:

This release corrects the following bugs:

- Bridge failed to transfer Ethernet multicast packets.

- Saving configuration from the web interface would sometimes cause the unit to lockup.

- Web pages would sometimes be corrupted.&nbsp; This would<br>

&nbsp; mostly happen when two or more web browsers were hitting the unit at the same time or when you rapidly click on links.

- The web server would indicate that it would maintain a Persistent Session, but then did not operate this way. This was confusing the web browser and would result in a bunch of half open connections. The browser would later nail the unit with a bunch of connection resets, possibly causing the unit to crash.

- TCP segments were being re-transmitted prior to any time-out or error condition.

----------

ESB-02 VERSION 2.0 10/21/2002

ESB-02 Multipoint VERSION 2.0 10/21/2002

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This release adds the following features:

- The ability to monitor DCD signal changes through SNMP traps.

- The base EtherBridge firmware was modified to support two serial ports.

- The ability to read the state of all RS232 input signals was added to SNMP.

- The ability to configure SNMP trap receivers was added to the serial, telnet, and web interfaces.&nbsp; Up to 4 Management Stations may be configured.

- If the EtherBridge is configured to send traps to a Management Station, it will send an INFORMATIONAL trap with one of the DCD OIDs each time DCD changes state. DCD is de-bounced. Signal changes less than 50ms will not be reported.

- The EtherBridge will also generate a Cold-Start trap each time

the unit is rebooted. This is a SEVERE Level trap.

This release corrects the following bugs:

- Pin-6 configuration control. The logic was backward in the firmware such that when you set it to "forced-on", it was actually coming from the interface, and when you set it to

"from-interface", it was forced on.
