The TM-24 T1 channel bank has been discontinued. Read on for the reasons why we discontinued it and the replacement products we now recommend in its place.

The TM-24 was built using older parts that are either no longer available or have been replaced by new, more integrated and lower priced parts. It is no longer manufactured. The replacement products are smaller, less expensive, and much more capabile.

We now provide several different products that take the place of older channel banks...

Loop V-4200

For full channel bank functionality (multiple interfaces of various types, multiple T1s, DACs (Digital Access Cross Connect) capability, high-speed (T1 and faster). the Loop V-4200 IAD (Integrated Access Device) is the product of choice. It is available as a 9 slot and a 28 slot mainframe. Interface cards of virtually any type imaginable are available ranging from old 2-wire telephone lines to OC-3 and fiber. The data sheet is here.

Loop V-4300

To interconnect multiple T1s with only T1 (or E1) interfaces, a mini-DACs is used. Our mini-DACs is the Loop V-4300. This chasis has slots for up to four T1 or E1 interfaces. It allows any form of DSO or entire T1 time slot mixing between interfaces. The data sheet is here.

T-1 DSUs

Simple DSUs with one to four DTE ports take the place of smaller channel banks used for data interfaces. These have RS-232, RS-530, or V.35 interfaces and can provide "drop and insert" functionality. The data sheets are linked here.

Options

All of this equipment is available with SNMP. Most can be ordered with redundant power supplies, powered from -48 Vdc or 120/240 VAC. All are available with rack mounting options. Although there are still applications where a low-cost channel bank containing 24 voice interfaces is appropriate, the above equipment fits the bill for most T1 interface needs. These make a cost-effective, flexible replacement for the older channel banks.
